Bádminton Granollers

About us

Associació Granollers Esportiva was established in 1983. With different sports modalities, badminton is the main section of the club that has survived over time. Granollers has become one of the leading badminton clubs in Catalonia and Spain. Some of our players and teams participate in the most important national and international competitions.

Club trainings take place from Monday to Friday, with different groups sorted by level and age. The Pavelló del Congost de Granollers is where we train.

All about badminton

The fastest sport in the world.

In Badminton, two players (singles) or two pairs (doubles) compete against each other in the opposite halves of a rectangular track divided by a net.

Badminton is different from other rakquet sports in that it is played with a shuttle instead of a ball.

Players must hit the shuttle with their rackets so that it crosses the track above the net and falls into the opponent's sector. The point ends when the shutlle touches the ground, after passing the net.

Since the Barcelona Olympic Games (1992), badminton has been an Olympic sport in five forms: male and female singles, male and female doubles and mixed doubles. In mixed doubles, the couple consists of a man and a woman.
